A truly iconic Italian classic, all restoration performed under our roof.
This beautiful 1972 Maserati Ghibli SS Spyder is an incredibly rare car. There were a total of 1,295 total Ghibli's made with 1,170 coupes and 125 Spyders. Of those cars only 49 had the SS package with only 25 SS Spyders which means this is an incredibly rare vehicle. The SS package contained a stroked version of the V8 to bring it from 4.7L to 4.9L and some new carburetors. The extra displacement and new carbs brought the horsepower up to 330 horsepower and made it the fastest production Maserati road car ever at the time.
We completed a 2 year restoration on this very rare 1972 Maserati Ghibli Spyder SS 4.9. It just returned from the Amelia Island Concours where it won best in class and the Manufacturer's Award for the Most Historically Significant Maserati. This car has been in our customer's family since the late 80's. Although complete, the car was in for a complete restoration. We performed extensive metal and body work, along with new paint.
The engine and gearbox were removed for maintenance repairs and detailing. The interior was completely restored in-house and re-constructed from six hides of new leather. The soft top was stitched up from scratch. All chrome and trim was restored, as well as the original Borrani wire wheels. It runs as good as it looks.
